Nestled in the Leicestershire countryside, just outside Market Harborough, is Hothorpe Hall. Hothorpe, mentioned in the Domesday Book, has a rich history befitting of its grand stature and beautiful grounds and a perfect venue for a wedding.

We are photographing Heather and Kalum’s wedding at Hothorpe Hall in November and so it was the obvious venue for our Engagement Shoot. The temperamental british weather was conspiring against us on the day of the shoot, with the front of the main building being battered by strong winds. We therefore took sanctuary on the other side of the building amongst the trees and manicured gardens. Couples can be nervous enough the first time in-front of the camera with us submitting them to the elements. Needless to say Heather and Kalum soon started to relax and feel comfortable as the shoot progressed.

Given the weather, and their initial first-shoot reservations, they were surprised with the quality of the shots we managed to capture. Even though the conditions weren’t ideal it was the perfect way for us to prove that they needn’t worry about their photography on the big day.
