Engagement shoot at Oundle Mill - Tracey & Ross

Oundle Mill is unique hotel set on the banks of the river Nene, just outside Oundle, near Peterborough and is the setting of Tracey & Ross’s wedding of two halves on Saturday 17th December. The Mill will host the ceremony and wedding breakfast for their small and intimate wedding during the day for family members. The party will then continue at Wicksteed Park with family and friends dancing the evening away.

It has been about fifteen years since I last saw Tracey so it was a lovely surprise when she contacted us regarding their wedding photography, what a small world it is sometimes. I met Tracey & Ross at Oundle Mill for their Engagement Shoot. It has been many years since I visited the Mill and I had forgotten what a lovely venue it is with the river Nene flowing next to (and under) the Mill, locks and the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside disappearing into the horizon.

I love photographing couples in the winter sun which sits low in the sky providing beautiful directional lighting. Using the river and locks to set the scene Tracey & Ross, who admittedly where nervous about the session, soon relaxed producing a set of lovely natural shots. After a quick consultation, and a well deserved hot chocolate, they both left now looking forward to their wedding photography, so as far as I am concerned thats my job done :)
